At: Home Farm, Alton
Last weekend saw two teams from 1st
Park Gate Sea Scout group take part in the Sundowner Challenge at Ferny crofts camp site in the New Forest, where, amongst
other tasks, they had to complete an 11Km incident night hike through Matley Woods. Although a little damp it was a
challenging weekend with one of the teams, ‘Park Gate Pirates’ taking the trophy home; away from 1st
Warsash. Well done to Meadhbh Hogg, Tom Bailey, Josh Beard, Rhys Ryan-Heaney, George Williams and Beth Hine.
Also
Amongst
a wide field of contenders two of the younger members of 1st Park Gate Sea Scout Group took the U12.5 Kayak trophy
home at the Solent SeaScout Regatta at Testwood lakes. Well done to Kyran Richter and Broughton Smith.
Chief
Scouts Gold awards have been issued to James Richter & Liam Ryan-Heaney prior to joining the District Explorer Unit.
Katie Smith, a UK Jamboree contingent member, has been awarded her
Chief Scouts Platinum award for the outstanding work and commitment she has shown as a member of 1st Park Gate
Sea Scouts.
